Who can join VOWZ?

Anyone who identifies as a woman is engaged with Zen practice and wishes to cooperatively explore the experience of women in practice.

Is there a cost to join VOWZ?

VOWZ is offered on a dana basis. Meals and accommodations to the hosting facility are separate from participation in VOWZ.

How often do you meet?

We currently meet twice yearly.

What is VOWZ’s relationship to Jikoji Zen Center?

VOWZ is grateful to Jikoji Zen Center for its deep and ongoing support since its inception. VOWZ itself is independent of any Zen center.

Who runs VOWZ?

VOWZ is run by its Founding Mothers.

How is VOWZ organized?

We are beginning the process of forming a nonprofit religious corporation in California.

We would like to incorporate the VOWZ ritual at our Zen Center - how do we do this?

Please attend a VOWZ gathering. By engaging in the VOWZ Ritual yourself, you will have a sense of what support you will need to share the experience and understanding of this offering with your Zen Center.

What can I do to help VOWZ?
